How to Stop Grinding Your Teeth

Grinding your teeth isn’t  a bad thing by itself. But when you do it constantly, the friction and stress can seriously damage your teeth and lead to a host of issues that may need extensive restorative treatment. During your examination, Dr. Hansen can check the status of your teeth to determine if bruxism is causing them to wear down, or if one or more teeth are already cracked or fractured

What is Bruxism Treatment?

In many cases, bruxism can be treated comfortably and conservatively with a custom-designed oral appliance. The appliance, or night guard, can be worn while you sleep to protect your teeth from grinding against each other unconsciously.

If your teeth have already suffered damage, then your treatment can also include one or more additional procedures to restore the compromised tooth structure, such as dental crowns and/or veneers.
